The FIRST 15 bands to sign-up from December 1 to 3, 2009 at the Colayco Pavilion will be our competitors for the first CompSAt Rockband Tournament, the culminating activity of the Interactive Multimedia Exhibit.

Please note that only one band may represent a specific org (e.g. only 1 band may register themselves as representatives of Celadon).

The competition will be held at the Colayco Pavilion from 4:30 to 6 pm on December 4, Friday.

Mechanics

• Each band will have exactly four (4) members, one for each instrument. Bands will choose exactly one song from a predetermined set of songs, which they will play during the competition.

• Each band has only one chance to play the song. They will only be able to choose between hard and expert difficulties. Since each song has different scoring limits, the band's final score will be computed by dividing their raw score by a predetermined high score and multiplying it by 100. (Note: Scores will be divided by the same predetermined high score regardless of the level of difficulty. Playing in expert difficulty will earn more points than playing in hard.) The band's raw score will their score at the end of their play-through, whether it be from finishing the whole song or from failing.

• Members are not allowed to switch instruments anytime in the middle of the game. (e.g. If the singer cannot reach a note, he or she is not allowed to let another person sing that part in his or her place.)

• The top three bands with the highest final score will be declared the winner of the tournament.
